Brick Painting Part 2

Image
I have been painting bricks to look like some of my favorite book covers using acrylic paints and spray fixative.  Outdoor paints and clear polyurethane are great options to use as well.  Here is my Stephanie Meyers' Breaking Dawn inspired brick. Here is my Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars inspired book brick. Here is my Gregory Maguire's Hiddensee inspired brick book. Here are the 3 brick books displayed in yard.  I placed one on every other step of my deck with potted flowers alternating between them.  I love how it all came together.

Brick Painting is a great way to add a little magic to your garden and create beautiful outdoor decorations.  I used acrylic paint and a spray fixative.  Regular outdoor paint and clear polyurethane are also good options.  I love Alice in Wonderland.  These are my Alice in Wonderland inspired brick paintings. Alice in Wonderland would be nothing without the card soldiers and the Queen of Hearts. The finished product!  I absolutely love how these came out!

Fairies, Flowers, and Magic

My daughter and I love to create together and we love to garden.  This summer, we decided to make our gardens magical.  This is what we came up with.   My daughter and I bought 3 stone pots (one large, one medium, and one small) at Home Depot along with some potting soil.  We went to Hobby Lobby and picked out a Fairy Garden House, some fairies, and some decorative accents. We visited a local farm stand to purchase some flowers and this is what we came up with.   We added decorative accents to out potted vegetables to make them more magical.
